The Longford Lectures are held annually in November at Church House, Westminster. The speaker, on November 16, 2016, was the Rt Hon Michael Gove, MP. R To read about the lecture, download the transcript and view the film please click here.

There are three main aims:

  • to provide a national platform for a serious contribution to questions of social and penal reform
  • to make significant recommendations to policy makers
  • to be written, delivered and promoted in such a way as to engage wide public interest.

The Longford Trust makes no charge for tickets to the Longford Lectures so as to ensure that they are open to all, regardless of means. Those who can afford to make a donation in lieu of tickets are invited to do so.
